I have always been a Dolce&Gabbana menswear fan. Very few things can make a man look as “bello” as a Dolce&Gabbana suit, and while Etro comes in at a very close second, campaigns like these, are what completely steal my heart (and score the former additional points).
Simple, Italian, so happy. I couldn’t possibly be the only who thinks this campaign is just plain ol’ cheery! And yes, I will have to agree with the great number of Dolce&Gabbana fans out there who think Mariano Vivanco’s captured Dolce&Gabbana better with this campaign, than Giampaolo Sgura did with the Spring/Summer ’12 womenswear. This menswear campaign seemed a lot more honest to me. I’ll attribute it to the fact that the images were less pose-y, and of course, had no Monica Bellucci to steal attention off of the clothes. (Don’t worry, I am a fan.)
Here’s the menswear ’12 campaign by Mariano Vivanco.
And, just as a refresher, here are a couple of images from the S/S ’12 womenswear campaign by Giampaolo Sgura featuring Monica Bellucci and Bianca Balti.
What about you, whose Dolce&Gabbana interpretation do you prefer? Signore Vivanco, or Signore Sgura?
PS- The models for the F/W menswear campaign are Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Francesco Scianna, Gianmarco Tognazzi, and Brenno Placido.
